We all met for breakfast at the hotel. Then we walked around the Holiday Village Mall which is bigger inside than it appears to be from the outside. After that we went to the Havre Underground Museum. In 1904 the main business district of Havre burned down, so many businesses continued operation underground until everything could be rebuilt. The tour, which lasted about an hour, was very interesting. In the evening we went to Patrick and Rachel's new home. They have been doing a lot of work refurbishing it. He paneled in the basement to make a fantastic playroom. On one wall they painted a large tree with spread-out branches. They had all of us cover our hands with paint to put our handprints on the tree as leaves. We enjoyed Bar B Q'd hamburgers and hot dogs, and lots of conversation. It was another beautiful cool and dry day.

I left from LAX at 7:30 on Delta. There was a short stop in Salt Lake City to change planes. The connection flight to Great Falls, MT was on a small plane. Everything was very efficient with baggage claim and picking up a rental car. It was a peaceful drive of 115 miles to Havre on a straight road through wheat and alfalfa fields. I stopped at a very pretty scenic view site to take pictures. I saw very few vehicles along the way to Havre. Much different from L.A.! I stopped in Big Sandy at the Bear Paw Café for a snack which was very good. This little town has several bars, saloons, casinos, and a large Wells Fargo bank building - not much else. At the AmericInn in Havre I met up with others coming to Patrick's Wedding. I had dinner at Murphy's Pub with Marta and Wally. After dinner it was good seeing Sue, Roger, Elizabeth, Kathy, Anita, and Cathy at the hotel. The weather was dry, cool, and sunny. Montana is rightly called "Big Sky Country"!

After a few quite days at the RV park Joe saw a cardiologist yesterday. He found that Joe had a rapid heart beat and gave him a prescription. This morning our car windows were covered with ICE! We saw the cardiologist again this morning for rechecking and got a prescription refill. As soon as possible we'll be on our way home. We will be back on the 27th for preop tests.

We came down to La Jolla so that Joe could have testing, etc. in preparation for a Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) at the Scripps Green Hospital. He had a stent inserted into an artery and medication to remove fluid from his legs, ankles, and heart and lungs. He was discharged on the 14th. We're staying at the Santa Fe Park RV Resort, a Passport America Park. We'll stay here until he sees a cardiologist again on the 21st. Guy came down for a few days and was great support. We visited Liz and Fred who cooked us a delicious dinner. We had lunch with Tom Smith and a Sunday Brunch at the Crab Catcher with Marta and Wally. We will go home and return for the TAVR procedure scheduled for March 7. Joe should be a new man after that!

Yesterday we went back to the big tent for more shopping. We got our flag pole that wouldn't open replaced. The man was really nice. We found some LED lights for the inside of the RV. We got huge ice cream cones for lunch. We then went to Rice Ranch to inquire about sites with hookups for next year. They reserve them by the week, which includes days when not much is open. We'll have to decide, but they fill up fast. Someone told us that there are hookups at Tyson RV Park. Again we enjoyed Happy Hour with lots of snacks.

We left home with the Downings on Friday, the 18 th. We were slightly delayed because they had some battery trouble so we didn't get to Quartzsite until after 5 PM. We stopped for a quick lunch at Sirocco Summit. The Lunds had saved sites for us. We are dry camping so we must conserve . Over 1 million people convene here in a town of only about 3300. Other friends and RVF members joined us over the next couple of days. It was fun visiting at Happy Hours. We shopped until we dropped on Saturday and Sunday, buying both useful and fun items. There is no limit to the amount of "stuff" one can buy! I had to consider where I would put it before buying anything! The days have been beautiful with very cold nights. More RVF members may join us today.

It seems all we have been doing is eating on this trip! Yesterday we went to Ellen's Danish Pancake House for a late breakfast. The dogs enjoyed the large fenced-in dog yard at the park. It got quite hot in the afternoon so we stayed in for awhile. We tried to get some stuff organized and ready to go home. I even tried to study some of the ballot propositions! Joe dumped the tanks, etc. We walked down to Pea Soup Anderson's for an early dinner. We came back in time to watch the second Obama/Romney Debate. This is going to be a close election! We will be on our way home soon. Then the work begins with putting stuff away, cleaning, laundry, catching up with snail mail, e-mail and phone calls, gardening, etc. We're going to Disneyland with Jean, family, and friends on Friday. It's been a long time since we were there. Thus ends another rally and some travel time for ourselves, until next time.

We stayed at camp in Paso Robles yesterday morning. I took walks with the dogs and sat outdoors doing cross stitch. We left about 1:00 for Casmalia, stopping at Margie's in San Luis Obispo for a root beer float. We had a good Bar-B-Q ribs dinner at the Hitching Post. From there we drove to the Flying Flags RV Park in Buellton. It was late and dark so we just plugged in the electricity. We may stay here another day to dump and clean up before going home tomorrow.

We hung around Morgan Hill until about 1:00 PM, enjoying the beautiful, sunny morning. Then we drove to Paso Robles. It took awhile to find a convenient gas station. The prices have really escalated during the last week. We had dinner in Margie's in Paso Robles. Always good food there! We stayed at the Paso Robles RV Ranch, nearby. It was a nice warm evening for dog walking. We will head for Casmalia and the Hitching Post steak house this afternoon.
