We took a beautiful drive from Little Rock to Alexandria, LA, mostly on US 167. There were lots of green trees and fields and interesting little towns. We then went about 30 miles south to the Crooked Creek Recreational Area Campground. The roads were winding and narrow making it quite an adventure! At the end of this we came to a beautiful park with all the facilities. We were nestled in a forest next to a lake. We wished we could spend a few days there.

We drove from Crooked Creek to the University of New Orleans RV Park. Along parts of I 10 from
Baton Rouge we could see the rising water, and water coming in from a spillway. The highway is a bridge over the waterways, so we were high and dry! It is just so sad that so many people lost everything with the flooding waters when the spillways were opened.
A lot of rigs arrived early for the rally which doesn't start until tomorrow. So we had a great time greeting old friends and meeting new. There were a lot of burrs on the ground which got into the dogs' fur and paws. We gathered for an impromptu happy hour. The weather was beautiful during the day, but a fierce wind blew all night.
