We drove straight home, with just a stop at the Indio Costco for gas and lunch. We arrived home at about 2:00. Leah had made doctor's appointments for both Joe and Arden for Friday morning.
Mardi Gras was very interesting and lot more structured than we had thought. Each Krewe, a Carnival organization and social club, designed their own floats using a common theme for each float in their parade. Each Krewe then has a formal Bal Masque to present that year's "royalty". There were parades most every day and evening. We just couldn't sit through very many because of the very cold winds which tried to spoil an otherwise fantastic experience. Joe's cold and breathing difficulties made him very uncomfortable. But at least we did see Mardi Gras so we could check off another thing that we've always wanted to do!
