We saw the sun this morning! But it was still cold and windy until the afternoon when it warmed up a little becoming a pretty day. We visited Blaine Kern’s Mardi Gras World where most of the parade floats are made. They also make floats and props for a lot of other occasions and places. Then we went to the River Walk along the Mississippi River and browsed the many shops and restaurants. We had shrimp and crab stew and chicken gumbo in the food court. We took the trolley back to the French Market to buy some pralines and a tee shirt. Being Saturday it was crowded with several music groups entertaining. People watching was also fun! Mardi Gras and Saints spirit was very evident.
We were served a Cajun dinner of cat fish, rice, craw fish estoufee, and blue berries on pound cake. There was a good Cajun band and dancers who performed and gave lessons.
